Our Yoga Journey

More than 30 years ago, before we were the couple, “Jake and Susan,” we were just Jake and Susan, two music instructors who’d never met before we found ourselves teaching at a small, yogi-run music store in Roseville, California. Because the store was just finding its feet, the owners couldn’t provide much by way of salary and, as a wonderful gift, offered free yoga and meditation lessons almost daily. It was from those early beginnings that our mutual love for yoga’s ancient wisdom and practices, and eventually each other, was born!

We’ve been studying yoga, meditation, and Āyurveda ever since those early days. Our goal for our respective personal and teaching practices has always been to grow in our awareness and help everyone with whom we share this ancient wisdom, including our four beautiful children, to do the same.

While our children are now adults, sharing what we know, practice, and learn continues to be our passion. And, through Ananta Yoga Education, we are very fortunate to do just that, offering our fellow yoga instructors, yoga therapists, and aspiring teachers the best in advanced online yoga education.

We’re so grateful to have the opportunity to share the fruits of our pursuits with you and help you expand your knowledge and personal and teaching practices from the comfort of your own home or workplace. It’s also our great gift to be able to connect with you in regularly scheduled live calls to answer questions, enhance our online interaction, and strengthen our bonds as a community.

One translation of “Ananta” from Sanskrit to English is “limitless.” We believe that each of us has the limitless potential to achieve whatever goals we set for ourselves. We can’t wait to welcome you into the Ananta Yoga Education family and serve as your helpful guides as you continue to fulfill your unique, limitless potential and live your best life in prosperity and joy.
